Online Degrees in Computer Forensics

Forensics is a subject which includes chemistry, biology, physics, geology, psychology, social science, law, and business. Forensic experts gather evidence from crime scenes, suspects, and victims. They examine these data to provide scientific evidence to assist in investigations and court proceedings.

The two most important parts of formal education in forensics are academic coursework and on-the-job training. Academic requirements vary, depending on the kind of work you seek, and range from a high school diploma to a bachelor's degree or higher in one of the hard sciences. Expert forensic scientists, who testify in courts, usually hold a master's or a doctoral degree in accounting, criminal justice, or forensic science.

Forensics is widely used in prosecutors' offices, law firms, private consulting firms, police departments, law enforcement organizations, Immigration and Naturalization Services, the FBI, the Drug Enforcement Administration, and the U.S. Customs Service, among many others.
